Feeling Blessed

Fun in Muir Woods this past summer

Seems hard to believe it has been just two years since we launched our Three Little Bears project with Operation Smile.  My boys have grown so much and their smiles are so bright.  I am so grateful for everything we have accomplished together and the bright future ahead.  More than $250,000 has been raised and 2014 will bring even more exciting opportunities to donate smiles to those in need for children around the world.

Check out this video of the boys when we launched the program, can't believe how much they have grown and especially how much their speech has improved!  We have much to be grateful for.

I read an incredibly sad story this morning about a mother who killed her two teenage children and texted her ex husband telling him to come over right away.  In addition to the deaths of the children, she committed suicide.  I cannot imagine the despair this mother must have felt to do something so extreme.  The article said they were going through a divorce, foreclosure and who knows what else.  Sometimes it can seem that the world, our world, is coming apart at the seams and even the strongest of people can snap.  If you think you have entered a dark period or see someone in distress, please reach out.  Ask people for help. Offer to help. I know that I have felt frustrated many times over the years and had some very low moments.  Luckily, I have always had my husband to help me through it.  Help is always appreciated so please be kind, help a friend and maybe these types of senseless crimes can be avoided if only she had gotten some help.

Wishing you peace and happiness in this new year.  And remember, #triggerhappiness
