Sweet Lisa's Passing on the Sweet Smiles with Operation Smile Custom Pastry Shop offering donation to benefit children's charity

GREENWICH, Ct., May 22, 2013  --
Lisa and Stephen Maronian, owners of Sweet Lisa's Exquisite Cakes in Greenwich, CT, announces the shop’s first "Operation Sweet Smiles" campaign with Operation Smile, an international children’s medical charity. During the month of June, 10 percent of their sales will be donated to Operation Smile to anyone who mentions "Operation Smile" when they place an order, giving new smiles to children worldwide suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate.

Besides a passion for creating custom pastry masterpieces that evoke smiles and amazement, Lisa and Stephen also love to pay-it-forward by donating cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other sweet treats for numerous charity events and fundraisers throughout the year. So working with Operation Smile was a natural fit.

" This is a cause close to our hearts because we know first hand the power of a smile to a child for our close personal friends." Lisa Maronian said. "We have attended an Operation Smile Benefit previously at Lisa and Mat Lori's home and were moved by the work of their family and the compassion these doctors display.  It is our honor and privilege to help."

Every three minutes, a child is born with a cleft condition, it is estimated One in 10 children born with a cleft dies before their first birthday. Children born with clefts are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. With the help of medical volunteers and generous supporters, Operation Smile provides free surgeries for children around the world to heal their smiles and transform their lives. For as little as $240, the cost of a cleft lip surgery, a child’s life can be changed forever.  To learn more about the Lori Family's efforts with Operation Smile, you can visitwww.operationsmile.org/bears.
